Author of one of The Times' 2018 crime books of year comes to Titchwell
Best-selling author Rachel Abbott is to deliver the first Bookfest at Briarfields Hotel, Titchwell, at 3pm on Sunday, March 10.
The popular authors’ talks have previously attracted global best-selling authors including Anthony Horowitz, Sophie Hannah and Kate Mosse.
Named one of The Times’ 2018 crime books of the year, Rachel Abbott is the UK’s number one best-selling independent author, having sold more than three million copies of her books.
She will speak at Briarfields just a month after the publication of her ninth novel, The Shape of Lies, a thriller featuring detective Tom Douglas who unravels a double murder which involves a head teacher with a dark past.
Abbott, who is published by Black Dot, started her writing career as a self-published author after selling her interactive media company in 2005.
Her debut novel, Only The Innocent, published via Kindle Direct Publishing, topped the chart for four weeks. She will talk about her success as a self-published author, which saw her named Amazon’s number one crime and thriller e-book seller.
Her previous titles include The Sixth Window, Come a Little Closer, And So It Begins.
“We are delighted to kick off the 2019 Briarfields Bookfest season with author Rachel Abbott,” says director Jac Sandy.
“Alongside fans of her hugely popular psychological thriller titles, she will undoubtedly appeal to anyone who has an ambition to self-publish, having sold more than three million copies of her books before being snapped up by a publisher in a five-way auction for her work.
"Flying in from the Channel Islands, ahead of The London Book Fair, and we are lucky to be able to host her for an author’s talk at Briarfields.”
