Award-winning vocalist and lyricist Georgia Mancio and virtuoso reeds player Mark Crooks make a return to The Hoste of Jazz musical night at The Hoste in Burnham Market, on Friday, July 1.

They will co-lead a tribute to the remarkable Brazilian composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and Bossa Nova maestro Antonio Carlos “Tom” Jobim.

Jobim’s beautiful, bitter-sweet melodies evoke the sunshine and easy rhythm of Brazil combined with a jazz musician’s sense of harmony, the eloquence of George Gershwin and Irving Berlin and the sweep of Debussy, Chopin and Ravel.

This evening’s “Salud! Tom Jobim” recreates the hits Desafinado, Chega de Saudade, Corcovado and most famously The Girl from Ipanema. Evoking the sounds of Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto, Georgia and Mark ensure that Jobim’s Brazilian Bossa nova remains timeless.

A three-course dinner is served from 7.30pm, music for listening and dancing begins at 9.15pm to 10.35pm and tickets are £55 per person. Call on 01328 738777 to book.
