Cast members wanted for Lynn production of Grease - the musical
If Grease is the word for you, then King's Lynn Operatic and Dramatic Society (KLODS) has just the right show.
The musical of the cult 1978 film which starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John is being staged at St George's Guildhall in October.
And KLODS, which has been negotiating to have the musical for almost two years, is looking for cast members now.
The show will be directed by resident director and vice-chair Hayley Dennis.
She said: “This fast-moving show will need a cast who are good singers and have the ability to dance well, as many of the staged numbers will be more than a little energetic. That is why KLODS are holding a workshop on June 28th before the auditions on July 1st.
"Both these will be held at the KLODS building in St George's courtyard at 7.30pm”.
Being able to stage Grease will be a celebration for the society's 120th anniversary.
David Nash, chairman of KLODS said: "Much has changed during lock down with theatrical licences and with the Guildhall now being a venue of demand, the start of the rehearsals to the opening night is about three months.
"Therefore KLODS are looking for a dedicated and talented cast to make this family classic show take King’s Lynn by storm, well, Greased Lightning to be more precise.”
Grease will be staged between October 6 and 9, 2021.
