Christmas single recorded at Snettisham church to be released
A Christmas single and video that have been produced and recorded in Snettisham Church are to be released in time for the festive season.
Musician Damian Carruthers, who lives in Heacham, has written the single and has been working hard behind the scenes for a few months.
The song is called Light the Love with lead vocals provided by Kerri Rasberry.
Having moved back to Snettisham recently, life has been quite a whirlwind performing with his band Rane, promoting his children's book The Cheese Miner on the Moon and this project which will raise funds for the Marie Curie Trust.
Mr Carruthers said: "We are going to release the video and then the song officially on iTunes today.
"This also happens to be the singer's Kerri's birthday."
The process of creating the song has been a lot of work, organising recordings in the studio and creating a choir to sing the backing vocals.
Members of the choir met through a request on Facebook and recorded the tracks in Sick Studios in Pentney, overseen by studio owner Owen.
All have volunteered their time and musical talent in creating the song, laying the background vocals and appearing in the video filmed at Snettisham Church.
Mr Carruthers said: "It was a huge team effort that we think has really paid off.
"We are now planning to release the song as a single and raise money for Marie Curie.
"We were pleased to be performing at the Christmas tree light switch-on in Hunstanton."
The song will raise funds for the Marie Curie charity.
