King’s Lynn Civic Society holding next lecture with a talk from professor at an Italian university




A civic society will be having a special visitor giving a talk.

Lynn Civic Society will be visited by Dr Francesca Saggini on Thursday, March 7 at the Great Hall at Thoresby College in town.

She is a professor in English Literature at the Università degli Studi della Tuscia (Viterbo), in Italy, and one of the world’s foremost authorities on the literature of Fanny Burney, satirical novelist, diarist, and playwright.

Fanny was the daughter of Charles Burney, a music historian, composer, and musician.

Francesca said: “The Burneys have been at the core of my research for almost 25 years, and it is a joy to see that the incredibly rich legacy of this multi-talented family is now being discovered by the wider public.”

The ticket price for non-members is £2.50.
