Brancaster Staithe pub stages annual music and beer festival




Musicians and local breweries will put the Jolly into the Jolly Sailors this weekend.

The Brancaster Staithe pub is staging its annual music and beer festival, raising funds for the RNLI and inviting everyone to 'eat, drink and be jolly'.

It kicks off at 7pm on Friday (June 17) with Soul Alliance on stage, followed by Counterfeits Brits.

The Saturday line-up, from 1.30pm until 11.30pm, will be Sidewalk, Lounge Lizard, The Nod, The Foolish and finally, from 9.30pm, Beatles 4 Ever.

Sunday's artist. singing from 1pm to 4pm will be Serena Grant.

Breweries taking part, supplying real ale and cider, include Humpty Dumpty, Barsham Brewery, Lacons, Wolf Brewery, Moon Gazer and Wildcraft.

The Jolly Sailors has announced it will also host the first Brancaster Staithe Shanty Festival on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18.

Twelve ‘shanty groups’ from countrywide destinations will perform their versions of seafaring shanties in their quest to entertain and keep the ‘sea shanty’ songs alive. The groups will also rove around Brancaster Staithe village and sing their ‘shanties’ at the White Horse and Brancaster Staithe Sailing Club on Brancaster Staithe harbour.
