Community hub in Ingoldisthorpe delivers festivities
The Old Post Office on Lynn Road in Ingoldisthorpe has been turned into a community hub by its owner.
At Halloween there was a chance for members of the community to get together and similarly Jennifer Shah has organised a festive event for this Sunday, December 5.
With festive treats, mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas decorations this is a chance for the community to come together as the season begins.
Jennifer said: "I have recently applied for and been successful in obtaining CIL funding from the borough council to turn my garden into a community hub.
"Although I have yet to decide whether to accept the funding or not/sort out the company name as Post Office is a protected name for a company.
" I did want to ensure a community space is available to villagers over the winter months as this is when I think people can feel more isolated, especially with the ongoing pandemic.
"I will be serving mince pies that the WI members will be baking with donations for these going straight back to the WI.
"A parishioner will be playing festive tunes in the garden room on an electric piano donated by another villager.
"A new mobile coffee business will be serving hot chocolates and coffee from the lay-by outside the front of my house."
The event takes place between 3pm and 7pm.
