Young King's Lynn DJ to perform at Festival Too
A young DJ will be taking to the decks at Festival Too in Lynn and performing on the stage that will see established acts such as Fleur East and Will Young wow the crowds in the summer.
At aged 12, Liam Osler, aka DJ L.I.A.M will be one of the youngest DJs to have performed at the festival.
His performance will be on Saturday, July 2 and he is also taking part in the Jubilee Scout parade on Friday with many others from local Scout groups.
Describing Liam as one in a million, his proud dad Chris Osler said: "He is the youngest solo performer to ever play at Festival Too in 38 years, at the of 12-years-old.
"He does a voluntary weekly show on Fenland Youth Radio and he is also a a Scout leader for 2nd Runcton Holme and Watlington.
"Liam has recently been awarded the Scouts commissioner's commendation award for his commitment and dedication for his voluntary work at Fenland Youth Radio which he has done for almost two years.
"He is also one of the youngest House music Radio DJ’s in the UK.
"He was also awarded the Young Inspirational DJ of the year in 2021 and has two Blue Peter Badge awards, while in lock-down, one for music live streaming to 1600 children from 18 primary schools as the country went into lock-down as they couldn’t hold their end of year disco, the other for all his fund raising efforts and voluntary work for the local community.
"He was chosen to play alongside Fleur East and Judge Jules and he was spotted by Inspiration Sound and Light in Peterborough who immediately sponsored him.
"This opened the door to securing a weekly spot on Fenland Youth Radio every Friday between 7pm and 8 pm
"In the last few months Liam was presented the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire Award by Caroline Bewes in recognition of outstanding commitment and dedication for exceptional contribution to Fenland Youth Radio and at the 2nd Runcton Holme Scout group for commitments to tireless fundraising.
" Liam helped to raise funds for two defibrillators by performing at the Red Barn in Runcton Holme and also the well deserved Young Inspirational DJ of the year award.
"He was booked to perform in front of hundreds, at a DJ event called BPM, last October to showcase his skills for "This is why he has been chosen to perform at Festival Too alongside Amber, Fleur East and the amazing Judge Jules complete with his 10 piece band.
"He was originally booked two years ago which got cancelled at the last minute but he managed to keep a Scout secret all this time."
"He will be performing at Gaywood Community centre on Sunday for their Jubilee function."
