This Saturday it’s Twisted Melon’s Battle Of The Bands Heat 3, with four more acts chasing the top spot.

Triston Finnis, of Twisted Melon, writes: “After the incredible Sunday afternoon heat at Dr Thirsty’s, where Chasin Vegas and Kat Brittain progressed, we head along the A10 to Downham Market for an 8pm start.

“Hosting this heat is the Downham Market Club, an absolutely perfect venue for a Battle Of The Bands and over the years they have hosted some very memorable heats.

“It’s a great spacious venue with a good band area, it’s family friendly, has great staff and being a social club it’s very cheap, which is always good.

“Four acts will perform for the right to play this summer’s Festival Too as well as winning airplay on KL.FM, recording time with Capsize Audio Productions and many more fantastic prizes. From new kids on the block to recently reformed 30 somethings to budding singer songwriters. It looks like being one hell of a heat.”

Sacred Nations are a young four-piece band, made up of Cam (vocals/guitar), Ed (keyboard), Frazer (drums) and Dylan (lead guitar). They are all studying music at college and are passionate about a career in this field.

Two of the band enjoyed being finalists in the Battle of the bands comp 2015 and as a three piece won KL.FM Simply Acoustic 2015. They are working hard in the rehearsal room developing their own material and some imaginative covers. Their sound is upbeat and powerful lead by melodic keyboard, rich blues lead guitar, resonating vocals and captivating drums. There are plans for a first originals EP this year.

Event Horizon are Ben (Guitar & Vox), Simon (Bass & Vox), Ryan (Lead) and Rob (Drums). An electrical engineer, welder/engineer, mortgage broker and chef by day and at night they play pop/punk with an indie influence! They were initially all in an indie cover band over 10 odd years ago called The Cult 45s and played loads of gigs all over the place for a few years.

After a couple years away from music they’ve now gone full circle via many other bands, 100s of gigs, kids, marriages, the race track, Claud Butlers and just life in general and decided to give it one last hurrah! Fusing main influences Blink 182, Gaslight Anthem, Alkaline Trio, Oasis and Arctic Monkeys creating an odd set of fast paced originals and covers that should get feet tapping at the very least!

Kolin Durier is a guitarist singer songwriter from Norwich who writes catchy pop rock guitar-driven songs with upbeat funky grooves. Live, he uses an acoustic guitar and effects to weave drums sounds, basslines and funky melodies into his songwriting. Kolin takes influences from rock, soul and funk.

His track What Really Matters has received air play on BBC radio. Kolin is set to release a new EP in early 2016 called Behind The Cover. He recently supported the very popular Jon Gomm, a guitarist singer songwriter with over 10 million YouTube views.

Two And A Half Days are Gary Agg, Greg Morgan, Andy English and Paul Fenn, all based in King’s Lynn. The band has been together for about a year and write and play their own music. The name comes from the fact the band had only been together for two-and-a-half days before entering the 2015 Battle Of The Bands last summer. Their sound is an eclectic mix of pop, rock and blues incorporating simple but clever songwriting.
