Ella and Big Band promise magnificent night of music at St George's Guildhall in King's Lynn

Tickets are now on sale for Shakespeare’s Guildhall Trust’s magnificent music night on April 29.

The first half at St George’s Guildhall, starting at 7.30pm, will see the theatre alive with music, as Springwood’s Big Band present their diverse programme of swing, pop, funk and rock ‘n’ roll.

Taking the baton will be Eddie Seales, ensuring a truly Big Band evening.

The second half sees the fabulous Ella McCready Trio take to the stage.

Fresh from winning West End Calling Ellatrio and her incredible voice have an album due for UK release in the summer.

That’s not all! The icing on the cake is Tim FitzHigham, who is host and compere.

Comedian Eddie Izzard once said: “Tim is unhinged – he is completely without hinges.”

Born in Lynn, Tim is a multi-talented comedian, film and TV actor and explorer. He’s rowed a paper boat along the Thames, been awarded Freedom of the City of London and crossed the English Channel in a copper bath tub for Comic Relief.

Tim is a trustee of the Shakespeare’s Guildhall Trust and said: “This event is to raise money to keep the Guildhall, the oldest working theatre in the UK, working.

“We are so amazingly lucky to have this theatre – it is there for all the people to enjoy, but it needs your support.

“Come and enjoy a great night – buy a ticket, buy two tickets, or seven if you like, and know that you’re helping the Guildhall.

“I am only a trustee of one thing, the Guildhall Trust. The reason is simple – this is a unique theatre.

“It must be kept open. Help do that. Get in touch with the trust, we want to hear from you. There’s so much to do, get involved.”

Shakespeare’s Guildhall Trust chairman Ivor Rowlands said: “We are putting local talent right at the centre of our vision and it’s great that the April 29 fundraiser is a celebration of local success.”

Tickets are selling fast – prices £11 and concessions £10. Call 01553 764864.
