New February half-term event ‘Crazy Courtship’ coming to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve with full day of outdoor adventure and interactive trails
A nature reserve is set to host an engaging new half-term event filled with activities to keep everyone occupied.
Pensthorpe Natural Park will be running its new event ‘Crazy Courtship’ from February 15-23, designed to captivate families and nature enthusiasts alike.
With a “perfect blend of education and fun”, this event offers a full day of outdoor adventure, interactive trails, and a touch of cheeky humour.
Crazy Courtship is all about love and the fascinating ways in which creatures partner up in the wild.
From showcasing singing and dancing to unique scent-marking and playful displays, this event dives into the weird and wonderful courtship habits that animals use to lure a mate.
Families will explore these quirky behaviours in a fun, educational, and interactive way.
Visitors of all ages – from little ones to big kids – will enjoy an interactive multisensory trail culminating in the hideaway, where activities include scent boxes featuring scents like deer musk and even a warden’s smelly sock.
Guests will also have the chance to learn about nest building and much more.
The event features playful references adding a fun twist to traditional wildlife exploration. While inspired by popular themes, it remains family-friendly and educational.
Fiona O’Hara, event manager, said: “We are excited to offer a unique blend of fun and learning at Pensthorpe this February.
“Crazy Courtship allows families to connect with nature in a playful yet educational way, learning about both well-known species and the more elusive invertebrates that thrive here.”
With Pensthorpe’s rainy day guarantee, visitors receive free return tickets if it rains for more than an hour during their visit.
Booking is recommended to secure your spot for Crazy Courtship, though walk-ups are welcome.
Visitors can also enjoy Pensthorpe’s usual activities, including indoor and outdoor play areas, den building, and daily flamingo talks.
Prices for the event are £16.50 per person and can be booked at Pensthorpe.com
