LEARN MOREDownham Market and District Heritage Society welcomes East Anglian author, Jeni Neill, to their heritage society meeting tonight.
Jeni will be talking about the research and story behind her novel The Devil’s Dye, which blends historical fact with folklore, creating a powerful, fictional love story set in the 16th century.
Inspiration for the novel came from the true event of immigrants, named The Strangers, settling in Norwich when invited by Elizabeth I.
The Devil’s Dye also considers sense of place and what it means to belong. This is as contemporary as it is historical, and so makes the novel relevant to a wide selection of readers.
Jeni will be selling copies of The Devil’s Dye on the night which will take place at The Old Fire Station in Downham at 7.30pm.
