Families can explore the wilderness of Titchwell Marsh this summer

RSPB Titchwell Marsh is calling on adventurous families to explore the wilderness of the marsh this summer. From early dawn to well after sunset, the reserve is full of all things blooming, zooming, wriggling and buzzing just waiting to be discovered.

There are lots of places for energetic little legs to explore and activities for families. Pick up an activity backpack from the Welcome Hub and find it crammed with everything young explorers need to make their own adventure on the reserve. Learn how to leave a secret trail, search for mini-beasts and use binoculars.

Discover the creatures that swim, dive and wriggle in our wetlands with pond bingo - pond dipping with a prize at the end. Visitors heading to Titchwell’s beautiful beach can go rock pooling or beach combing with kit hired from the Welcome Hub.

Carrie Carey, visitor experience manager, said: “We want families to enjoy a day out on the reserve free from the complications of pre-booking entry and events. All our activities will be available every day of the school holidays from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Visitors can simply turn up, choose their activities and go.”

Visit the reserve any Wednesday between July 26 and August 30 and kids get in for free. There will also be a range of free activities on offer including a nature trail, guided family strolls and a chance to see which critters have spent the night in the moth motels.

Carrie added: “We know how important it is for families to be able to access and enjoy nature. And we want mum, dad, grandma, grandad and the kids to have a great day out that won’t break the bank. We hope that families will join us at RSPB Titchwell Marsh on Wild Wednesdays and watch the kids getting a close encounter with nature.”

With easy parking and buggy friendly nature trails, RSPB Titchwell Marsh is the perfect spot to spend some family time together this summer.
