The Norfolk Symphony Orchestra is putting on a concert of film music in King’s Lynn

Do you enjoy music? If you do, this event will not disappoint.

On Sunday, January 21 from 3.30pm, the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra, directed by conductor Steve Bingham, will be presenting a concert of music for cinema, featuring soundtracks from movies both old and new.

The concert will feature famous music from Star Wars and Jurassic Park, both composed by the legendary John Williams, whose composing skills were nurtured by Eric Korngold, a composer from the studio days of Hollywood.

Korngold will be represented in the concert by the Suite from Kings Down, which was John Williams’ influence for the original Star Wars score of 1976.

The soaring music of Hans Zimmer’s score from Gladiator and Bernard Hermann’s haunting score for Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo will also feature in the afternoon concert, alongside other film scores both old and new.

The mighty Norfolk Symphony Orchestra will be enhanced by larger percussion and brass sections, promising an afternoon of adventure and excitement for everyone.

Here is an opportunity to experience the wonder of the cinematic score at the Corn Exchange in Lynn.

Norfolk Symphony Orchestra has expressed gratitude for the sponsor of its 2022/23 season, Adrian Flux, for its continued support.

Once again the orchestra will be giving away 100 free tickets to under-18s throughout this season.
