King's Lynn festival church tour
A successful afternoon exploring three fine West Norfolk churches during the 2021 King’s Lynn Festival was such a success a similar event will be staged on Thursday, July 21.
Last year a coach carrying Lynn festival enthusiasts spent an afternoon admiring Marshland Magnificence where Father Adrian Ling shared his affection for Walpole St Peter, West Walton and Tilney All Saints churches and organist Peter Godden demonstrated the sounds of three very interesting organs.
This year the tour is called Wonderful Wiggenhalls and will take in St Mary Magdalene, St Mary the Virgin and St Germans which are renowned for their fascinating medieval woodwork and rare stained glass.
Sadly, one of the organs cannot be played but nevertheless Mr Godden will talk about each of them.
Tea and cake will round off the event which is sponsored by King’s Lynn Civic Society.
The coach will leave the Tuesday Market Place at 1.30pm and return at 5.30pm.
Advance booking only at the Alive Corn Exchange box office.
