Steeleye Span, Pink Floyd tribute, Sheringham Shantymen and Super Sixties Saturday at King's Lynn St Nicholas' Chapel in October




Folk legends Steeleye Span and a Pink Floyd tribute act are among the highlights of concerts coming to Lynn's St Nicholas' Chapel (just off Tuesday Market Place).

The Darkside of Pink Floyd kicks off the season, on Saturday, October 1. The show is at 7.30pm and doors are at 6.45pm.

The Sheringham Shantymen perform on Saturday, October 8. Show: 2pm, doors: 1.15pm.

A Super Sixties Saturday is on Saturday, October 8. Show: 7.30pm, doors: 6.45pm. Appearances are by: Herman's Hermits, The Marmalade and The Swinging Blue Jeans.

Steeleye Span, who celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2019, round off the season on Friday, October 14. Pioneers of folk-rock, Steeleye Span has been one of the most influential names in British roots music.

Steeleye Span changed the face of folk music forever, taking it out of small clubs and into the world of gold discs and international tours.

Formed in 1969, many members have come and gone, and perhaps best-known is lead vocalist Maddy Prior.

They enjoyed the biggest commercial success, with the acapella Latin carol Gaudete giving a Christmas chart entry in 1973 and a No 5 hit in 1975 with All Around My Hat produced by Mike Batt of The Wombles fame.
