Pam Rhodes at Gaywood

More news, no ads

There will be a rare opportunity at the end of this month to discover the background histories to some of the nation's favourite hymns when an evening with Pam Rhodes is held at St Faiths Church in Gaywood, writes RICHARD PARR.

For many years, Pam Rhodes was a familiar face and voice to viewers of BBC TV'S Songs of Praise on Sunday evenings. She is also a writer and has published several books.

On May 28, at 7pm will be a mixture of historical details about the composers of some of our favourite hymns but there will be lots of laughter too.

Then Sings My Soul is being held to raise funds for the redevelopment of the old church bungalow in the driveway of St Faiths Church.

The new St Faith's Church Community Cafe, Drop-in Centre and church office is being created as a Project working with Norfolk and Waveney MIND (mental health charity).

Tickets for the evening (including a drink on arrival) are £12 and are available from St Faith's Church office on 01553 774916 or by mobile on 07841 632457.
