Burnham Deepdale hosts award-winning music Deepdale Festival September 22-25 which topped East Anglian Festival Network poll
Next week, music lovers will gather in Burnham Deepdale for the award-winning Deepdale Festival.
The event, from Thursday to Sunday, September 25, hosts more than 45 acts, showcasing fantastic national and regional acts, in a four-day programme across four stages put together by festival director Chris Haycock.
Now in its fifth year, Deepdale Festival has become a firm favourite in the festival calendar for both artists and music lovers. The relaxed atmosphere, the superb music, the setting of Deepdale Camping & Rooms on the beautiful North Norfolk coast, and its team led to the festival being voted Norfolk Festival of the Year 2021 in the East Anglian Festival Network poll.
This year Chris has described the line-up as his “long held ambition”, welcoming artists he’s loved for years.
The headliners include Wildwood Kin currently on their Move On Out tour, Sam Kelly & Jamie Francis fresh from a tour in Denmark, Pavey Ark who recently performed on the Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury, Kathryn Williams, Gentlemen of Few, The Smokin’ Pilchards, Cobbler Bob, Cut Throat Francis and the Good Earth Collective.
Each stage has a different feel. The traditional Norfolk chalk & flint Brick Barn stage is for dancing to a lively band or enjoying a hugely talented solo artist.
The Orchard at Dalegate Market is so relaxed, with picnic benches, grass and a large marquee. St Mary’s Church with great acoustics hosts special sets over the weekend.
The Courtyard is where you can catch up with friends and listen to solo artists honing their craft.
An array of street food vendors and other stalls join the shops, pop up shops, supermarket and café of Dalegate Market, to feed and service music lovers throughout the weekend.
There are workshops on song writing, punk ukulele, percussion, meditation and yoga, free poems, and star gazing under the dark skies.
Although most of the onsite accommodation is full, there are day tickets available.
The full programme and ticket information is on the festival website – www.DeepdaleFestival.co.uk
Three episodes of Deepdale Podcast have interviews with artists, which are available on www.deepdalebackpackers.co.uk/blog/podcast/
The event is run by the team of Deepdale Camping & Rooms, with the support of local contractors, friends and volunteers.
