West Acre Gallery prepares for double spring celebration fair

This weekend marks a double spring celebration for West Acre Gallery.

Its spring art fair falls on the venue’s fourth birthday and this year the crowdfunded community venue will be celebrating over the same April weekend, making it a double spring celebration.

The fair takes place tomorrow and Sunday from 11am until 4pm with free entry both days at the gallery, set in the grounds of West Acre Priory.

Visitors will be able to shop for affordable quality art, crafts and handmade gifts created by local independent artists , and be part of a hive of creativity and enterprise.

Shoppers will be able to meet the makers of beautiful gift ideas to suit all tastes and budgets, dip into neighbouring art studios to buy artists’ wares and watch them work, or enjoy a coffee and homemade cake in between shopping.

As a grassroots community venue, West Acre Gallery supports local creatives from the ground up.

The weekend will allow enthusiasts to celebrate the venue’s birthday and the arrival of springtime with the whole family.

A spokesperson said: “Meet the talented and tenacious artists directly, and discover this humble alternative to the commercial high street where you’ll find original paintings, prints, photography, illustration, ceramics, leatherware, jewellery, woodwork, weaving, homewares and textiles.

“All affordable, unique, and locally made.”
