Garden open day at Gayton
Gayton Hall is once again opening up its gardens as part of the National Garden Scheme Open Days this spring.
This rambling semi-wild 20 acre water garden, has more than two miles of paths, and contains lawns, lakes, streams, bridges and woodland.
There are plenty of primulas, astilbes, hostas, lysichiton and gunnera and spring bulbs for the visitor to enjoy.
The are also a variety of unusual trees and shrubs, many labelled, which have been planted over the years.
Gayton Hall has opened for the NGS for more than 40 years.
There will home-made teas on sale on the open day in aid of charity.
For this open day you can pre-book your tickets in advance, but it is not essential. You can just turn up and pay on the day.
Adult admission is £6 while children are admitted free.
Gayton Hall can be found off Back Street in Gayton. The open day is on Sunday, April 3, from 11am to 4.30pm.
