Cambridge Renaissance Voices performing for one night at King’s Lynn Minster in celebration of Virgin Mary with music from 16th century Europe
Cambridge Renaissance Voices is returning to the “glorious acoustics” of Lynn Minster for a concert.
Written in celebration of the Virgin Mary from 16th century Europe, the ‘Queen of Heaven’ includes music from Renaissance Flanders, Italy and Spain, and ranges from calm and meditative antiphons to joyful and exuberant polyphony.
Acclaimed by early music reviews for their “beautifully controlled” performances, “assured and expressive” and “achingly beautiful”, Cambridge Renaissance Voices was formed in 2013 from singers with a wide and deep experience of this repertoire.
They have performed regularly in Long Melford, Waltham Abbey and St Cross in Winchester, as well as giving occasional concerts in Sherborne Abbey and Boxgrove Priory.
The performance is taking place on Sunday, November 17 at 7.30pm.
