This Saturday The Twisted Melon Battle Of The Bands heads to The Wildfowler on Gayton Road, Lynn, for the first time.

Triston Finnis, of Twisted Melon Promotions, said: “With only two heats remaining the semi-finals are starting to take shape.

“Semi-final one features Sacred Nations, Mammal Not Fish, Kat Brittain, Phoebe & Jay plus the winners of Heats 8 and 9.

“Semi-final two is now complete and will feature Event Horizon, Among The Citizens, Chest Of Pogs, Chasin Vegas, Simon Benefer and Vulpes.

“At the Wildfowler, as usual its free entry and after last weekend’s X-rated metal heat we’re back to an all-age event.

“Get yourself over to this great family venue and it all kicks off at 8pm.

“Here’s my run-down of Heat 8’s acts...”


Finding Ana are Andrew Girling (rhythm guitar and lead vocals), Andy Webster (lead guitar and backing vocals), Dan Barnes (bass guitar) and Chris Argent (drums). They are a four-piece alternative rock band from Cambridge. The guys won their heat in last year’s competition and narrowly missed out on a place in the final. They’ll be looking to go one better this year and are setting the bar of this heat extremely high.




Smoking With Indians are an originals indie rock acoustic trio, based around Lynn and Wisbech, consisting of Josh Diggle on vocals, Jack Diggle on lead guitar and Corey Doades on rhythm guitar.

Their influences range from Oasis to Cage The Elephant. Performing in pubs and clubs they are making a name for themselves and have a new Facebook page www.facebook.com/SmokingWithIndians


Reckless Caution are Adam Parker (lead vocals), Tom Colmans (guitar and backing vocals), Jake Bales (bass guitar)and Chris Brown (drums). Formed in 2013, Reckless Caution are a new slant on the alternative genre. With different genres of music colliding between the four, Reckless Caution have a sound that is sure to attract a wide variety of listeners and they are ready to hit the ground running to play their unique mix of rock, punk, and gentle melodies.


Toasterfoot are made up by Ryan Clarke (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Ben Spittle (lead guitar), Kieron Williams (bass guitar) and Lewi Gallant (on drums and backing vocals). The band are a young, enthusiastic rock cover band from The Fens. They are missing their regular bass player for this heat at the Wildfowler and the lovely Sally Ann Pottle will deputise for the evening.
