Church historian John Vigar holding four-session course on the past and architecture of Norfolk churches at Thoresby College in King’s Lynn
One of the country’s leading church historians will repeat a four-session course on the past and architecture of Norfolk churches.
John Vigar, who is a member of the Advisory Council of The Norfolk Churches Trust and the author of ‘Churches of Norfolk’, will present four sessions on Monday mornings at Lynn’s Thoresby College in January.
Norfolk has more than 650 medieval churches – the highest concentration in Europe – and the course will explore the history and architecture of these buildings, including many from the area.
It will look at furnishings such as fonts, wall paintings, monuments, and stained glass and John promises that “you will never look at an old church in the same way again”.
John has visited and recorded more than 13,000 churches in England and Wales.
Places are limited and booking is essential.
The course costs £40 and details and bookings are available from John on 07962 368062 or by email john@johnevigar.com
