Family attractions at Oxburgh Hall in Oxborough this month




One of West Norfolk’s historic manors is looking forward to welcoming visitors this May half-term.

Oxburgh estate at Oxborough will have a selection of traditional garden games on the terrace for children and families to enjoy.

Further into the estate is the Home Covert where young visitors can build a den in a natural play area nestled between a 17th century wood and 18th century pasture.

The courtyard has the Servants’ Hall tearoom with lunches, light bites and drinks, a gift shop and garden plants for sale.

The National Trust estate has been home to the Bedingfield family for 500 years and family members still live there in private apartments.

The moated medieval manor house with Victorian Gothic interiors, has a Victorian garden, including a kitchen garden and orchard, the French-inspired Parterre, a wilderness area and My Lady's Wood. There are wildflower meadows and rare chalk river.

This month there is an Oxburgh Hall Past to Present tour, garden tours from Saturday, May 10, and a Turning Back the Clock archaeology tour from Monday, May 12. There is also an immersive gatehouse experience and more events have been planned for the summer months.
