A magical underwater production is promised at a medieval theatre as the King’s Lynn Operatic and Dramatic Society (KLODS).

Their production of the Disney classic “The Little Mermaid” will illuminate St Georges’ Guildhall Theatre in Lynn with a fully animated LED wall.

Classic songs including “Under the Sea”, “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World” will accompany a fully animated backdrop.

The family classic which is suitable for all ages is opening just in time for the school easter holidays.

KLODS has broken its theatre tradition by having early shows on Wednesday and Thursday, starting at 6.30pm, as well as 2.30pm matinees and 7.30pm shows on the Friday and Saturday.

The show tells the story of Ariel, King Tritons youngest daughter who is a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure.

Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and whilst visiting the surface, falls in love with the dashing Prince Eric.

She bargains with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs.

The bargain is not what it seems, and she needs the help of her colourful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.

KLODS Chair David Nash said “Our high levels of production quality have given KLODS a good name, and one we have been able to maintain since 1901.

“LED staging does seem to be the way forward with big musicals this show has pushed KLODS and its talented cast and stage crew all the way to the bottom of the sea and back.

“Supported by Your Local Paper and Radio West Norfolk, we want to bring fantasy and romance to King’s Lynn and there is no better way to do it other than a Disney version of one of the most famous love stories of all time.”

Shows will take place from April 10-14 and tickets are priced at £16 and are available from Lynn’s Corn Exchange Box Office by calling 01553 764864.
