King's Lynn Alive Corn Exchange past Comedy Club 4 Kids line-ups included Stewart Lee, Jason Byrne, David O’Doherty and Adam Hills
The ‘Comedy Club 4 Kids’ is back at the Alive Corn Exchange in Lynn on Sunday, January 15 at 2pm.
Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children and their families… but without the rude bits!
It’s just like a normal comedy club, but it’s on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of heckles like “why is that your face!?”
The Alive Corn Exchange says it is looking forward to seeing the childrens’ reactions.
The Guardian described it as: “Comedy Club 4 Kids has been a highlight for children in recent years, giving them a taste of some of the biggest names in comedy, with the fun, rowdy feel of a real comedy club.
“Past line-ups have included Stewart Lee, Jason Byrne, David O’Doherty and Adam Hills, and it’s always interesting to see how comics adapt their material for kids, and to see those who can get a laugh without falling back on the toilet jokes. (Some do look quite lost when they realise, they can’t swear at hecklers)”
This show has appeared at music festivals including Camp Bestival, Cornbury and Larmer Tree.
Regular hosts include CBBC veterans Tiernan Douieb (‘The Slammer’), Iain Stirling (‘Help! My Supply Teacher’s Magic!’), Luke Toulson (‘Space Pirates’) and Stuart Goldsmith (‘Mission:2110’).
Other reviews include: “The ethos is just right.” **** - The Daily Telegraph.
