Auditions will be held this month for The Graduate – the next production by King’s Lynn Players.
This play is based on the Oscar-winning 1967 movie starring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft.
On stage, The Graduate had a successful West End run when several high-profile stars took part including Jerry Hall, Linda Gray and Kathleen Turner.
For Lynn Players, the chairman, Chris Fox, said: “We are delighted that Anthony Maley will be directing his first play for us. We are also looking for a different kind of graduate, dedicated, imaginative and fun individuals who are passionate about theatre and are driven to contributing to a successful team.”
Anthony added: “The Graduate is a relevant, fast paced and funny play with great characters.”
Readings for the production will take place on Thursday, November 12, and Monday, November 16, both at 7.30pm at South Wootton Methodist Chapel; auditions will take place at the same venue on Thursday, November 19, from 7.30pm, and for more details about the King’s Lynn Players, visit www.kingslynnplayers.co.uk.
The Graduate will be presented next year at Lynn Arts Centre from Thursday, March 17 to Saturday, March 19, with a matinee performance on the Saturday.
The audience will see a disillusioned 21-year-old Benjamin Braddock, a recent college graduate with no clear aim in life, who is seduced by an older woman, Mrs Robinson and then proceeds to fall in love with her daughter Elaine.
The Graduate, a cult novel and classic film, will be brought to life by Lynn Players taking you on a journey through Benjamin’s disastrous sexual odyssey.
