Lady Glenconner, the eldest child of the 5th Earl of Leicester, shares tales from her extraordinary 90 years, including what life was like as a young child living at Holkham. In her conversation with David Whiteley, viewers will be enlightened about her coming out ball, the surprising origin of the dress she wore, and what her good friend Princess Margaret made of the party.

The short film will also share fascinating details about the behind-the-scenes running of the Hall, Lady Glenconner’s time working for her mother’s business, Holkham Pottery, her experience as Maid of Honour at the Queen’s Coronation, where she chooses as her favourite part of the estate, and what Holkham means to her.

Broadcaster David Whiteley said: "Having interviewed Lady Glenconner on many occasions before, it was really special to capture her memories of growing up on this glorious estate. Holkham is a gem on the Norfolk coast and to hear Lady Glenconner's recollections of her time there, was a fantastic experience."

Lady Gleconner added: “I relished sharing my memories of Holkham with David. I have such a deep-rooted relationship with the estate – from my early days climbing trees in the park to my coming out ball and wedding. I do hope everyone who visits the hall enjoys watching the film.”

Lady Glenconner is the bestselling author of Lady in Waiting (available in Holkham’s gift shop).
