Declining to participate in the victory celebrations, he is lured by temptations of the flesh. Unsatisfied by those experiences, he follows the intrigues involved in political power.

Seen by some as a dark tale, it highlights the dangers of false appearances and empty promises.

The soul-searching Pippin dwells under the illusion that there has to be an absolutely perfect place and purpose for him in life. His obsession for an ideal existence without any flaws promises to be self-destructive.

Finally recognising that optimal humanity really is too good to be true, Pippin realises that he must discover a person to whom he can devote himself entirely and do his best by them.

Giving himself to a widow Catherine and her son allows him to develop his self-worth and inner peace. Schwartz’s iconic and unforgettable musical masterpiece reveals how Pippin’s happiness lies not in extraordinary enterprises but in everyday events that are wholly ordinary.

This moving message aids universal understanding and links to audiences of all ages everywhere.
