Five acts are lined up for the second heat of Twisted Melon’s Simply Acoustic 2015 this Sunday.

And after the amazing afternoon of music in the opening heat last weekend – when Simon Benefer and Falling From Trees won through to the final – once again the venue will be the Maid’s Head in Lynn.

Triston Finnis, of Twisted Melon Promotions, said: “This Sunday’s offering of acts come from all over East Anglia.

“Ben Callanan is an amazingly talented and seasoned busker from Peterborough while Chris Pidgeon and Pirate Joe are phenomenal talents from Norwich.

“Added to this we have two very local young artists from West Norfolk in Alicia Riley and Isabella Rose Smith.

“Don’t miss this amazing afternoon of live acoustic music. It all starts at 5pm, is free entry and all ages are welcome.”

The following five acts are chasing a place in the final and the chance to grab a prize package for the winners of playing at the King’s Lynn Christmas Lights switch-on, a recording package with Capsize Audio Productions and a professional photo-shoot.

Ben Callanan

Ben Callanan is an acoustic songwriter from Peterborough.

After releasing his first EP “Dreams” in early 2009 and hitting the acoustic circuit furiously Ben continued to busk around Peterborough and is a very well known face around the city. Ben has continued to busk and perform all over the UK and has released a number of EP’s.

Ben also makes beats for other artists under the name of El Busko.

Alicia Riley

Alicia is an 18-year-old solo acoustic artist from West Winch. She is heavily influenced by Indie and alternate genres and this very apparent when you hear this talented musician perform.

Chris Pidgeon

Chris is a Norwich-based singer songwriter. He performs an original set of storytelling folk/rock songs with his very distinctive style.

Chris has supported a number of chart acts at the Norwich Waterfront, including Festival Too favourites Heaven 17.

Pirate Joe

There’s a storm a brewin’…. And navigating it haphazardly towards a rainbow on the crest of a honey whisky wave is Falmouth’s very own ‘Pirate Joe’.

A one-man band and a rarity in artistry these days, Joe is the epitome of a musical alchemist, connecting with his audience as a conductor would an orchestra, or a Captain and his loyal crew.

An old soul on young shoulders, blessed with the ‘spirit of the blues’ and a voice to match, Joe is a Jack Sparrow among us, a whirlwind of creative energy, and blue is one colour you certainly won’t be feeling after a personal interaction as part of his crew.

Isabella Rose Smith

Isabella is a 16-year-old singer-songwriter from King’s Lynn. She plays a number of instruments including guitar, ukulele and piano. Her own material has an original and distinctive vocal style while she gives popular covers her own spin.
