King’s Lynn hosts Mods and Rockers again on August 14 in Tuesday Market Place

Crowds lined the South Quay in Lynn last weekend for the annual Hanseatic Festival of Watersports and on Sunday the action returns to the Tuesday Market Place with Mods and Rockers.

The borough council is bringing a day full of entertainment – a must for both scooter and bike enthusiasts and fans of the clothes and music of the era. The popular Mods and Rockers Classic Scooter and Motorbike Meet returns to Lynn on Sunday, 10am to 4pm.

Cllr Graham Middleton, deputy leader of the borough council and cabinet member for business, culture and heritage, said: "We’ve gone from roaring engines in the river last weekend to roaring engines in the Tuesday Market Place this Sunday.

"It will be the seventh time this event has been held in King’s Lynn. Every year it gets bigger and better. If you’ve got a scooter or a bike that you want to show off, bring it along; there’s no need to book.”

Once again, the historic market place will be lined with vintage and modern two- and three-wheeled vehicles, polished to perfection and ready to dazzle. Exhibitors and spectators will be invited to judge the bikes for ‘People’s Choice award’, so every vote counts.

Music on the day is being provided by IV Geezers, Heavy Soul and The Pat Win Combo. Providing the perfect musical background and giving the event a festival feel.

No pre-booking is necessary for exhibitors, and there is no entry fee. During the day there will be a voluntary collection for SERV emergency blood bikes.
