True’s Yard Fisherfolk Museum in King’s Lynn is holding elderly open day – with refreshments and activities

The elderly are being encouraged to visit a town museum for a day of fun.

Residents aged over 60 can visit True’s Yard Fisherfolk Museum for free on February 7 from 10am-4pm. Last admission is 3:30pm.

Visitors can explore the museum, watch several short local history films made by Northender Arthur Paynter, and take part in a history quiz.

There is also a recently renovated Georgian tearoom with fairtrade tea, coffee, and cakes supplied by Lynn-based Smiths the Bakers.

Particularly popular are the teacakes – a lovely treat to enjoy in the chilly weather.

True’s Yard is located on the corner of North Street/St Ann’s Street and has wheelchair access throughout most of the museum.
