Music in Country Churches ends season with two concerts at St Nicholas' Chapel in King’s Lynn
Two concerts are being put on to mark the end of the season.
Music in Country Churches is hosting the shows in St Nicholas’ Chapel in Lynn to celebrate the glories of the late Summer.
The first is taking place on Tuesday, July 30 at 6.30pm.
On this evening, join the English Chamber Orchestra – one of the UK’s most beloved cultural institutions – for ‘Brilliance and Virtuosity’, a programme featuring music by Mendelssohn, Strauss, and Mozart.
The talented young performer José Matias, a prizewinner of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, will perform Richard Strauss’s violin concerto – not often performed but well-known for its stunning virtuosity and beautiful lyricism.
The second concert is taking place on Wednesday, July 31 at 6.30pm.
On this evening, The Cardinall’s Musick and their director Andrew Carwood present ‘Sweet Music’, a concert to celebrate Sir Charles Villiers Stanford who died 100 years ago.
During his life and since his death, Stanford’s choral music has been much-loved, and this concert celebrates not only Stanford’s music himself but also some of the music that influenced what he composed.
