Oklahoma! cooks up tasty competition

Where is the first place a cowboy would head for a night out? The King’s Lynn Players have teamed up with Middletons Steakhouse and Grill to offer a very special prize to help promote their latest production, Oklahoma!

The Rodgers and Hammerstein-written show is being staged at The Guildhall of St George in Lynn’s Arts Centre from November 14 to 17.

Publicity officer Tom Clarke said: “This seemed like the perfect fit for a cowboy themed show and Middletons Steakhouse and Grill have kindly offered our lucky winner a meal voucher for £70 and on top of that we are giving away a pair of tickets for the show, too.”

Kirstie Blanchette, guest relations and marketing manager at Middletons, who have a restaurant in Lynn, added: “We are so pleased to be teaming up with the award winning King’s Lynn Players for this competition and we hope the winners have a great evening with us.”

Oklahoma! is set at the beginning of the 20th century and tells of the high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys which provides a colourful backdrop against which farm girl Laurey falls for cowboy Curly in a great evening’s entertainment for the whole family. The show is packed with iconic songs including ‘Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’, and ‘It’s A Scandal’.
