Hunstanton’s One-Act Drama Festival back for 2023
Following last year’s successful event, Hunstanton’s One-Act Drama Festival is back for 2023 with what promises to be a packed programme of exciting new plays and set pieces presented on stage at Hunstanton’s iconic Princess Theatre.
This unique experience, which takes place across a whole weekend from Friday, June 30 to Friday, July 2, sees amateur theatre groups from Norfolk and beyond compete with each other as they perform their short one-act play to a live audience.
Each play will receive a short verbal adjudication at the end of the session, and awards will be presented at a Gala Awards Ceremony.
For the audience, it’s an opportunity to enjoy a theatre experience of at least two, possibly three plays just £7.50 each session or to attend all four sessions over the weekend for just £20.
This year’s participants include the award-winning ManNic Productions who last year won the coveted Stagecoach Cup for Best Adult Production, Kei Bailey who won the N.O.D.A. Cup for Best Original Script for his clever short play ‘Sunny Side Up’ as well as returning groups Boston
Playgoers, Wisbech Theatre Players and the Sutton Bridge Players to name but a few.
Festival Director Stephen Hayter said: “The standards were so high last year, we’re excited to see what our theatre groups have to offer in 2023 and we know they are all looking forward to an exciting competition.”
Tickets are on sale now from the Princess Theatre Box Office.
