One-act drama festival returns to Hunstanton
Thanks to the support of the Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts and the generosity of the management at Hunstanton’s Princess Theatre, the One-Act Drama Festival returns to Hunstanton this year.
Staged over three days, July 1-3, the festival sees upcoming playwrights and actors presenting and performing in a 40-minute play on stage and awards will be presented to adults and youths for best performance, best actor/actress, best original script, best technical and the adjudicators’ award.
The competition is open to any amateur theatre groups, with a separate category for under 18s in the youth entry group and performances can be of a short play, with or without musical numbers, or an excerpt from a longer play.
Festival director Stephen Hayter said: "We’re thrilled to see a return to live theatre after what has been a challenging couple of years and very grateful to the Princess Theatre for helping us stage the event.
"We have just 13 slots available to groups over the three days so now is the time to get your entry in and we’re looking forward to welcoming new and familiar faces to this wonderful event."
All the performances are open to the public and tickets will be available just as soon as the entrants and schedules are confirmed.
The One Act Drama Festival is funded and supported by Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts (HDFA) and the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk.
