Norfolk Symphony Orchestra bringing season to an end with final concert at St Nicholas Chapel in King’s Lynn
The Norfolk Symphony Orchestra will be presenting its final concert of the season.
Following on from the hugely successful May concert, the Orchestra will be commencing the programme with Wagner’s Overture to Parsifal, with its shimmering strings, grandeur of the brass, and its ability to draw the listener into a world of spiritual quest and redemption.
The concert is once again being conducted by music director, Steve Bingham, and will be taking place at St Nicholas Chapel in Lynn on June 23 at 3.30pm.
Chaminade’s Flute Concertino will feature in the performance showcasing both the delicate beauty and agility of the flute.
In contrast, the monumental Symphony in C Minor ‘Organ’ by Camille Saint-Saëns unites orchestra and organ to create a powerful and majestic experience.
Saint-Saëns’ masterful composition explores a range of moods, from hauntingly dark passages to triumphant and uplifting moments.
The symphony reaches its peak with the awe-inspiring finale, where the organ emerges, filling the chapel with its commanding presence and thunderous sound.
Join them as they celebrate and conclude their successful 23/24 season of concerts, and look forward to the next season of concerts commencing in November.
Norfolk Symphony Orchestra is grateful to the sponsor of their 2022/23 season Adrian Flux for their continued support.
The orchestra is committed to producing music of the highest quality, performing varied and exciting programmes and the orchestra will once again be giving away 100 free tickets to under-18s throughout this season.
It is hugely encouraging for the orchestra to find that there are so many enthusiastic supporters for classical music among the young people of the county.
