The Norfolk Symphony Orchestra to perform fourth concert of season at King’s Lynn’s Corn Exchange
The Norfolk Symphony Orchestra will be presenting its fourth concert of the season next week.
The concert, which will once again be directed by Steve Bingham, will take place on Sunday, May 18 at 3.30pm at Lynn’s Corn Exchange.
Entitled ‘New Worlds’, the concert will include Tower’s Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman, a powerful tribute with bold, dynamic brass celebrating pioneering women.
Finzi’s Clarinet Concerto follows, for which the orchestra will be joined by Sarah Williamson, a distinguished clarinettist, renowned for her expressive artistry and technical precision.
She brings a unique blend of lyrical beauty to her craft. The concerto, written in 1949, has become a landmark work for the clarinet, increasing in popularity since its first performance at the Three Choirs Festival that same year.
The orchestra will conclude with Dvořák’s much-loved ninth symphony, ‘From the New World’, a sweeping, evocative symphony that captures the spirit of American landscapes and culture with its stirring melodies and dramatic orchestrations.
Join the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra as it continues to delight audiences with its critically acclaimed performances and desire to bring live music to the county.
The orchestra will once again be giving away 100 free tickets to under-18-year-olds.
