Plans to reschedule The Railway Children this year hit the buffers
The King's Lynn Players' latest production of The Railway Children hit the buffers at the start of lockdown and plans to reschedule for November this year have now had to be reconsidered in light of continued Covid safety measures in theatres and new social distancing guidelines.
The Players now hope to get things ready for departure in Spring 2021.
Director Sharon Fox said: “It was so unfortunate that we had to pull this fabulous show as the cast had just moved into the theatre and were ready to perform show week!
"However we totally understood that things could not go ahead as planned and everyone’s safety was top of the agenda.”
She added: “The current circumstances mean that at the moment we are unable to rehearse the show safely and therefore we can’t perform as planned in November. We have such a fantastic cast who are so enthusiastic and can’t wait to get back to the performances in Spring 2021.”
Chairman Wendy Fisher said: “We are lucky to have such loyal audiences and we hope they will understand we have no choice but to move the performance dates until next year. We are determined to bring local theatre back to King's Lynn as soon as we can.”
The Railway Children will now be staged at The Guildhall of St George from 18th to 20th March 2021.
The Corn Exchange box office will be in touch with all ticket holders to transfer their tickets to the new dates.
