The Deepdale Camping team have announced their Top Albums of 2022 in the Deepdale Podcast – have you got them on your music shelf?

Each December a special episode of the Deepdale Podcast is produced, where Chris Haycock, Deepdale Festival director, is encouraged to get very excited about the best album releases of the year.

This year Chris has chosen seven albums of the year: Kathryn Williams – Night Drives; The Shackleton Trio – Mousehold; Courtney Marie Andrews – Loose Future; Ellie Gowers – Dwelling By The Weir; The Unthanks – Sorrows Away; Sunday Driver – Sun God; Man The Lifeboats – Soul of Albion.

With a bonus pick: The Last Inklings – The Impossible Wild (from 2021).

“It's not hard to get excited about great music, and when I listen to these albums, they really knock me for six with their musicality and lyrics," said Chris.

"Some of the bands we’ve hosted at Deepdale Camping & Rooms, others we would love to welcome to Deepdale Festival and the Brick Barn Stage. All have released superb albums this year, and I’m very pleased to review them on the Deepdale Podcast.

“Each of these artists deserves a bigger audience, and we hope in our own small way that we help them find more fans.”

Chris is managing director of Deepdale Camping & Rooms, and director of the Deepdale Festival, which hosts an array of artists each September.

The Deepdale Podcast is a monthly podcast usually hosted by Jason Borthwick and includes interviews and news.

Jason has interviewed many musicians, local artisans, attractions, and he added: “I love putting together the Deepdale Podcast. I get to chat with some incredible people, and there is something very special about learning more about musicians and local artisans."
