The magic of Christmas has already taken over Lynn’s Corn Exchange, as dancers started rehearsals for this year’s Christmas pantomime, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs.
Jordan Productions’ fifth pantomime at the town centre venue will star Sue Holderness, of Only Fools and Horses fame, as the Wicked Queen, with doors set to open on Friday, December 5.
The actress is best known for her role as Marlene in Britain’s best loved sitcom, which she played from 1984 until the final episode in 2003, before co-starring with John Challis in four series of the spin-off The Green, Green Grass.
Joining the cast headed by Sue Holderness are a talented group of dancers from across West Norfolk, who started rehearsals at the weekend.
The dancers were chosen from successful open auditions, in which producers were once again impressed by the quality of the talent, which were held in September.
Nina McKenna, head of programming and marketing at the Corn Exchange, said: “It is lovely to see such fantastic local talent being given a professional platform to showcase their skills.
“This year we have some outstanding young people taking part in our panto and it is so exciting to see rehearsals starting and it all coming together.”
For the fifth year running, the Corn Exchange will welcome back Dame and director Ian Marr.
Returning for a second year, after proving a big hit with audiences, is KLFM’s Adam Newstead, who will be taking to the stage as Hector The Horrible.
Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs runs from December 5 until Wednesday, December 31.
