Shrek-tastic launch event for Watlington theatre company

The Watlington Players amateur dramatic group officially launched their next production which is to be Shrek the Musical with a party.

Their previous production of Allo Allo was performed in October of last year to a sold-out audience.

Company members enjoyed a fairytale fancy dress party and Shrek was delivered a pizza.

There was singing, dancing and quizzing by princess, fairies, princes and a few dalmatians and it raised over £700 for production funds in advance of the run over the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend of Thursday, June 2 to Saturday, June 4.

Shrek is the classic DreamWorks animation fairytale with a twist and audience members will be able to find out what happens on their adventures which features an ogre, joined by a talking donkey meeting many unusual characters on their pursuit to rescue the princess.

The performance will be at Watlington village hall at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
