King’s Lynn Society of Arts and Sciences launches new timetable of talks




A series of upcoming talks are taking place as part of a society’s new annual schedule in its brand new venue.

The King’s Lynn Society of Arts and Sciences has nine upcoming talks taking place from October to March this year.

The talks will be taking place at the Small Barn at Knights Hill Hotel.

Launching the series of talks is merit researcher from the Natural History Museum Dr Sandra Knapp. Her talk is titled “In the Name of Plants: Remarkable Plants and the Extraordinary People Behind their Names.”

Door and the bar opens at 6.45pm with meetings starting at 7.30pm.

Chairman Sherie Naidoo said: “If you are even slightly interested in arts or sciences do come to our meetings.

“Our audience attracts the cream of speakers on a wide variety of subjects. We’ve been doing it for more than a century.”

Membership for the year costs £24 a month.

Other talks taking place throughout the year include one from a curator from the Victoria and Albert Museum and a master of Trinity College.
