Soulful Sunday in King’s Lynn this weekend
A day of smooth soulful music returns to the Tuesday Market Place in Lynn this Sunday, with another free live music event organised by West Norfolk Council.
Soulful Sunday takes place from noon until 4pm and features live music from Soul Sisters and The Soft Tone Needles, along with soul sets from DJ Mark Purdy.
Cllr Simon Ring, cabinet member for tourism, events and marketing, said: “I’m pleased that hundreds of people came and enjoyed Folk in the Town last weekend, despite the occasional rain showers. This weekend we turn from folk to soul music. There’ll be great live music and DJ sets to get people singing along and tapping their toes.
“This is one of many events planned over the summer holidays to support town centre businesses and give people another great reason to head into town.”
The borough council has more free events planned every weekend through the summer holidays in Lynn, as well as many in Hunstanton throughout August.
Additionally, families can benefit from many low-cost activities through Alive West Norfolk venues this summer thanks to funding from the borough council. The Summer of Play gives children and young people access to many different sports for £1 with an Alive Card, reduced to 50p with an Alive concession card. Also, there are theatre and craft activities at St George’s Guildhall most Wednesdays and Thursdays in August.
