Royal Norfolk Show Norwich Showground hosts spectacular event showcasing everything that is great about the county

With three weeks to go before this year's Royal Norfolk Show, organisers promise it will be another spectacular event showcasing everything that is great about the county.

Plans have got off to a flying start with record entries in livestock classes and big demand for trade stand space.

Still the country's largest two-day show, it will take place at the Costessey showground on the outskirts of Norwich on Wednesday and Thursday, June 28 and 29 with a packed programme of events planned for both days.

The line-up will include more than 3,000 entries in the livestock classes, more than 700 trade stands, dawn to dusk entertainment in the main ring and sections that showcase the best in Norfolk produce and products.

Last year's comeback event after Covid was hailed as the 'best ever' by the organisers and will be a hard act to follow but they hope to build on that this year with a number of new categories and activities to draw in the crowds.

With so much going on – and hopefully the weather on their side – they hope to get close to the magic 100,000 attendance figure by the time the gates close.

In the main arena, visitors will be able to watch the RAF Falcons parachutists, a thrilling motor-cycle display team, the grand parade of prize-winning livestock each afternoon, top-flight show jumping, marching bands, the Shetland Pony Derby and a virtual 'big sing' featuring thousands of voices.

There are livestock classes for everything from heavy horses to cattle, sheep, pigs and goats, and a special rare breeds section.

Elsewhere on the showground there will be the county's largest food and drink experience, a garden show, countryside arena, craft marquees, a farriery competition, and trade stands showcasing products ranging from country clothing to the latest, and largest, farm machinery.
