Bestselling author to visit Titchwell on tour
Sunday Times bestseller, Stacey Halls, will visit Briarfields Hotel, Titchwell on Sunday, February 16, as part of her UK tour, just 10 days after the release of her latest book, The Foundling.
Stacey will appear as part of Briarfields’ series of Bookfest events which take place throughout the year and feature an author talk, Q&A session followed by posh afternoon tea and book signing.
Stacey Halls studied journalism and was media editor at The Bookseller and books editor at Stylist.co.uk. Stacey has also worked as a journalist for Psychologies, the Independent and Fabulous magazine, plus has sold the TV rights for her best-selling novel The Familiars.
Stacey’s latest novel The Foundling is released on February 6. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Georgian London, six years after leaving her illegitimate daughter Clara at London’s Foundling Hospital, Bess Bright returns to reclaim the child she has never known.
Dreading the worst, that Clara has died in care, the last thing she expects to hear is that her daughter has already been reclaimed, by her. Her life is turned upside down as she tries to find out who has taken her little girl, and why.
Less than a mile from Bess’ lodgings in the city, in a quiet, gloomy townhouse on the edge of London, a young widow has not left the house in a decade. When her close friend, an ambitious young doctor at the Foundling Hospital, persuades her to hire a nursemaid for her daughter, she is hesitant to welcome someone new into her home and her life, but her past is threatening to catch up with her and tear her carefully constructed world apart.
Jac Sandy, director and organiser of the Bookfest events at Briarfields Hotel, said: “Our Bookfest events at Briarfields give booklovers a unique opportunity to hear and meet some of the UK’s most popular and well-known authors here in North Norfolk and we are really excited to welcome Stacey Halls, as part of her UK-wide tour, to learn about her latest book.”
Jac continued: “Like all our Bookfest events we expect a sell-out so encourage anyone wishing to attend to contact Briarfields Hotel to reserve their places as soon as possible.”
Following Stacey Halls, the next Bookfest event being held at Briarfields Hotel in Titchwell is on Sunday, March 1, with crime novelist Cara Hunter which is already a sell-out. However, there are a few spaces remaining for The Times political sketch-writer Patrick Kidd on Sunday, April 26, with his book titled The Weak Are a Long Time in Politics, Sketches from the Brexit Neverendum.
Tickets are priced at £17.50 each which includes author’s talk and ‘posh afternoon tea’, please contact Briarfields Hotel on 01485 210742 or email info@briarfieldshotelnorfolk.co.uk.
