Swaffham course set to explore Tsarist Russia
The reign of the Tsars in Russia ended tragically with the murder of Nicholas II and his family in 1918, thus ending almost 400 years rule by these all powerful leaders.
In a day school hosted by Swaffham WEA, tutor David Prynn on Saturday, March 28, Tsarist Russia will be examined from its origins with the first Tsar, Ivan the Terrible.
He will also look at the Russian landscape and people, famous Tsars such as Peter the Great and Catherine the Great, and conclude with the problems of Tsarist Russia and the reasons for its collapse.
As always for WEA courses no special knowledge or experience are needed. Everyone is welcome to join this course.
The fee for the course is £20, and places should be booked in advance online at www.wea.org.uk or by phone 0300 303 3464. Tea and coffee are included. Please bring a packed lunch.
The course runs from 10am to 4pm at Swaffham Community Centre, Campingland, Swaffham, PE37 7RB.
