Two family generations performing in The Sound of Music at Alive Corn Exchange as part of King’s Lynn Player’s 80th anniversary
It is a family affair as an award-winning theatre group brings its latest production to the stage.
The Lynn Players is celebrating its 80th Anniversary with a return to Lynn’s Alive Corn Exchange with a production of the classic musical, The Sound of Music.
The Guyatt family are delighted to take to the stage again following their roles in The Railway Children which were cut short by cancellation due to Covid-19.
Mum Heidi, who joined the players in 1985, said: “The Sound of Music is a super special show for me, I was lucky to be cast as Louisa in 1990 with my brother and sister.
“Now I am really privileged because my two daughters are going to be in the show with me.”
Poppy Guyatt, who joined in 2008 at the age of four, said: “I grew up with The Sound of Music because of my mum listening to the songs and watching the movie over and over again, it was a constant part of my childhood, which means it is so special for me today to be a part of this show.”
Heidi’s youngest daughter Bella is also really excited to join her family members on stage.
“It has been great fun to work with my family again and we can’t wait to perform for all our family and friends,” she said.
The Sound of Music will be performed at Lynn’s Alive Corn Exchange from Tuesday, November 12 until Saturday 16.
Matthew Austin and Maddi Dawson take centre stage as Captain and Maria.
Packed full of Rodger’s and Hammerstein classics such as Do Re Mi, My Favourite Things, Edelweiss and the iconic Climb Every Mountain, this is a show not to be missed.
The show is sponsored by KL1 Radio.
