Trio perform at King's Lynn Festival on Friday

The Minerva Piano Trio will launch King’s Lynn Festival’s autumn season with a coffee concert at Lynn Town Hall on Friday.

The trio has gained a reputation as one of Britain’s most exciting young trios and at the return of the festival’s popular coffee concerts they willperform a trio by Mozart and Schumann’s second trio.

The hour-long concert begins at 11am and the audience can enjoycoffee and cake from 10.30am.

Eight days layer the season continues with a concert by King’s LynnFestival Chorus in their “home”, the spacious St Nicholas’ Chapel with its fine acoustic.

There have been close associations between the festival and the chorus for many years and the performance on Saturday October 16 at 7.30pm will be staged in partnership by the two organisations.

IKON is the title of the hour-long concert which will be one of the first major events staged by the chorus since Ben Horden became its new music director.

The programme features some of the most deeply devotional choral music of the 20th and 21st centuries including works by Karl Jenkins, Tavener and Tippett.
