Summer festival being held to raise funds for Wereham’s St Margaret’s Church
A summer festival is coming up at the end of this month which aims to raise funds for a “beautiful” Grade II listed church in the heart of a village.
St Margaret’s Church Wereham Summer Festival is making its return and has been described as a “highlight for the village calendar”.
Together with the annual Open Gardens, the festival is one of the major fundraisers of the year to support the church.
Organisers promise it to be a great time out for all the family, including a barbecue and raffle.
There will also be a selection of stalls including hoopla, a book and jigsaw stall, tombola, horseshoes, cakes and more.
This year’s festival takes place on Sunday, July 21 from 11am to 2.30pm.
Inside the church there will be tea, coffee and other drinks.
In the chancel, there will be an exhibition of wedding attire and wedding photographs from generations past and present.
If you are unable to make the Festival, the exhibition will be available to see across the weekend.
Donations of homemade cakes and jams as well as prizes for the raffle and tombola and wine bottle stall are appreciated before the event.
Items can be accepted by calling Chris on 01366 500976.
